St. Ignace to Trout Lake Trail

If you’re looking to get away from it all and revitalize in nature, this picturesque, often very remote trail that follows an abandoned rail corridor from St. Ignace to Trout Lake is perfect. You can hike through beautiful woodlands, wetlands, and open green spaces in Hiawatha National Forest that are also perfect for ATVs and snowmobiles.

St. Ignace Clyde's Drive-In

Take a trip back in time! Clyde’s is an old-fashioned drive-in with classic American diner fare fresh off the grill. You can sit at the counter and watch the cooks hard at work while drinking an ice-cold milkshake. If you’re really in the 50s mood, pair your trip to Clyde’s with Gateway Lanes, a classic 50s-style bowling alley (jukebox on-site!).

St. Ignace Sand Dunes

These 6 miles of beautiful, sandy beaches are such a hidden gem they don’t even have a name. The sand dunes are located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the Hiawatha National Forest and have lifesaving stations located on the main stretch. Be sure to check out this stunning view of Lake Michigan.

There’s even a gift shop for souvenirs, with birch bark ceiling and walls hand crafted by local Native Americans in the early 1950s!
