Sunday: Beach Bash at Kiwanis Beach

On Sundays from 4 to 7 pm, head over to Kiwanis Beach for the Beach Bash. You will love the live music, games with St. Ignace beach balls (yours to keep!), and even kayak rentals right on the beach. It’s a laid-back affair where you can kick off your shoes, feel the sand between your toes, and let the worries of the week melt away. Build sandcastles with the kids, catch up with friends over a game of beach volleyball—whatever you choose, the Beach Bash will put a smile on your face!

Heritage Mondays and Tuesdays: Traditional Teachings in the Longhouse

Experience the culture of the Ojibwa people with Traditional Native American Teachings, offered every Monday and Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Cultural Director Frances Wyers, a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, will present at the Longhouse located in the Museum of Ojibwa Culture at 500 State Street in downtown St. Ignace.

From storytelling to hands-on demonstrations, these evening sessions offer a unique opportunity to connect with the past and deepen your understanding of Indigenous culture and history. Handouts with segments of the teachings will be available, so you can take the knowledge home with you.

Wacky Wednesdays: Serious Fun at First National Bank

Beginning on July 3rd from 6-10 PM, come to First National Bank for Wacky Wednesdays. Prepare to be entertained by surprise acts like juggling and live statues by the talented Chet Mitchell. It’s sure to be an evening of laughter and lighthearted fun, perfect for the whole family! Bring a picnic blanket, then settle in for a night of entertainment that’s sure to leave you in stitches.

Market Thursdays: Bayside Farmers Market

Every Thursday from 3pm-7pm, browse through a variety of local vendors at the Bayside Farmers Market. From fresh produce to handmade jewelry and delicious jams, there’s something for everyone! Take a leisurely stroll along the grassy expanse beside the St. Ignace City Marina, sampling tasty treats and chatting with the friendly vendors. It’s a community gathering where you can support local artisans and farmers while soaking up the great atmosphere of a St. Ignace evening.

Fantastic Fridays: Friday Nights at the Museum and the Music By The Bay Summer Series

When Friday evening rolls around, head to the Museum of Ojibwa Culture from 6-7 PM to learn from traditional Elders about the old ways of the Tribal people from our area and how these teachings have been preserved and handed down through generations. The teachings will be presented in a traditional longhouse which recreates a dwelling place of the Huron people who once set up a village on the site of the current Museum.

Every night (not just Fridays) from 7pm – 8:30pm in July and August, St. Ignace will host the Music By The Bay Summer Series at the American Legion Park, located at 200 State Street. Local talent will serenade you as you soak in the stunning views. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration. Bring a blanket, grab some snacks, and relax under the evening sky as the music fills the air. From folk tunes to jazz melodies, there’s something for every music lover to enjoy.

Swinging Saturdays: Swinging Iggy and Fireworks Spectacular

Join us for Swinging Iggy, a fun-filled event happening every Saturday night between 7pm and 10pm. Get ready for a night of laughter and entertainment! Sponsored in part by Kewadin Casinos, it’s a sight you won’t want to miss. Find a cozy spot along the boardwalk and grab a table at one of the waterfront restaurants for front-row seats to the show. As the sky explodes in a kaleidoscope of colors, join in the collective gasps and cheers of fellow spectators.
