2025 will include a Mackinac Bridge Crossing along with all the other activities we love about Trek. Below, find event information, guidelines, and registration info. See you in September!
Off-road enthusiasts are invited to participate in the 11th Annual Trek the Mighty Mac. This event is for the following machines: SXS, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and dirt bikes only. Dogs must be small enough to sit on your lap (for bussing) and are only allowed in fully enclosed machines for the crossing. Dogs are not allowed in the arena. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license. If you want to cross together with other registrants, you need to drop your machines off at the same time as your group.
Join the growing number of Trekkers’ who gather in St. Ignace every year to enjoy food and gear vendors, a one-of-a-kind parade across the Mackinac Bridge on Saturday, followed by off-roading adventures!
Law Enforcement/local ORV Ordinance Links
You are responsible for having any required ORV licenses or permits. Click here to visit the website to read or obtain a copy of “The Handbook of Michigan Off-Road Vehicle Laws and Riding Basics”. You can download the handbook to your computer for free, or there are iBook and Nook versions that can be downloaded for $1.99. [An ORV license is required if the ORV will be used anywhere other than private property, and an ORV trail permit is required to operate on state-designated ORV trails, routes or areas. As far as helmet requirements, all ORV operators and passengers must wear a U.S. Department of Transportation approved crash helmet and protective eyewear, except when the operator and passenger are wearing properly adjusted and fastened safety belts in an ORV equipped with a roof that meets or exceeds the standards for a crash helmet.] (Excerpts from the handbook listed above.)
Message From The St Ignace Visitors Bureau
Safety is the top priority of the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau and its event organizers. We are all adapting to new changes and policies to help keep safety in the forefront. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to make all of our events safe and fun for all. If the event must be drastically changed, postponed, or canceled for safety reasons, we will offer full refunds to anyone that pre-registered. At this point, we have every intention of seeing all your smiling faces, safely, in September.
This event is organized by the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau. Many of our events do not make a profit and those that do, fund activities for guests in St. Ignace including weekly fireworks and nightly music in the summer, and contributions to local programs for downtown beautification and upgrades. The St. Ignace Visitors Bureau is able to make these contributions to the betterment of our town as a whole, and your experience as a visitor, through stays in St. Ignace hotels. To this end, we highly recommend that you stay in a St. Ignace hotel when you visit, to help make these events possible. Thank you for your support of our community!
