Voyageur Trading Post

The Voyageur Trading Post is the place to find handcrafted furnishings and accents to fill your home, cottage or lodge. Items are of original design made locally by Michigan artists and symbolize the spirit of the north.
Rustic furniture, photographs and paintings of northern beauty as well as unique gifts and accessories are available to enhance your surroundings.

Opened by Alan Turf in July 2011, the Voyageur Trading Post celebrates Michigan artists and their work.
Alan spent 25 years with a small cabinet shop in Virginia where they built custom furniture and colonial reproductions for private individuals and historic sites.
However, Northern Michigan with its pine trees, lakes and crisp clean air called him back home.

We hope you will enjoy the photos on the website and come visit our showroom in downtown St. Ignace, a town Steeped in the history of the French Voyageur and Indian traders and surrounded by fresh water lakes and pine forests.
