LOCAL UP BEACHES

St. Ignace and the surrounding area is home to a number of beaches, some of them right downtown. In addition to swimming and wading, visitors can enjoy a picnic, participate in a game of horseshoes or volleyball or play on the playground equipment.
American Legion Memorial Park
This waterfront park in downtown St. Ignace is the perfect spot to enjoy a view of Mackinac Island. There are picnic tables, a pavilion, grills, playground, beach area, and restrooms. This beach is a great place to snorkel, shallow water dive, or launch a kayak or canoe!
Mackinac Bridge And Bridge View Park
Located on the shore of the Straits of Mackinac, this park is just west of the Mackinac Bridge toll plaza. The observation center contains interpretive displays depicting Mackinac Bridge and its history. There is also a picnic pavilion that offers a spectacular view of the Bridge.
Lake Michigan Sand Dunes
The Lake Michigan Sand Dunes are a must see when visiting the St. Ignace area. Spend an afternoon of sun, sand and crystal clear water, swimming and wading along miles of beautiful sandy beach on the north shore of Lake Michigan. This beach is rated one of the finest in the Midwest.
Brevort Beach on Lake Michigan – Moran
This Lake Michigan public shoreline beach is located south of Brevort River in the Hiawatha National Forest.
Kiwanis Beach
Kiwanis Beach in downtown St. Ignace on Moran Bay features a sand beach, a picnic area and pavilion.
