SUMMARY:Antique Snowmobile Bridge Crossing
DESCRIPTION:Antique Snowmobile Bridge Crossing\nDecember 12\, 2026\nOur snowmobile crossing began in 2016 with 38 antique snowmobiles and continues to grow every year. Snowmobiles must be at least 25 years old or older to participate in this event.  The machines must also have a wheel kit installed.  If you have questions on the wheel kit\, please contact the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum at 906-477-6298. \n\nRegistration Closed\n \nThere will be no onsite registration.\nPlease Note – Refunds are allowed if requested 30 days or more before the event\, minus a $5 cancellation fee. Register early – registration is subject to closing at any time if we reach the event’s capacity. \nIf you have any questions\, please feel free to call our office at 906-643-6950\, or the museum at 906-477-6298. \nWe’re excited to see you soon!! \n\nPlay\n \nEvent Details\n We will be crossing from Mackinaw City to St. Ignace at about 11 AM on Saturday\, December 12.  \nStaging: \nWe will be staging in the Colonial Michilimackinac parking lot in Mackinaw City  (102 W. Straits Ave). \nT-Shirts: \nT-Shirts will be available for the event\, but NOT covered under the registration fee. Cost is $20.00 each. To order a T Shirt – call the Museum at 906-477-6298\, with a credit card by November 14. You can pick up your shirt the day of the event. \nLunch will be served at about 1 PM. Lunch can be purchased separately\, in case anyone who didn’t cross would like to eat with the group. The cost is $15 (cash only). New this year\, we will be offering purchasing additional lunch tickets online when you register for the event. We highly encourage this as it gives us a better idea of headcount – if you don’t pre-purchase tickets\, we can’t guarantee there will be enough food for you. \nThings to know before crossing the bridge: \nYou are not required to have insurance on your machine\, but it does have to be legally registered.  You also do not need a trail permit. You can get a Michigan Historical Snowmobile Registration\, which is a one-time registration\, or a regular registration. Click here to download the Michigan Historical Snowmobile Registration Form. \nIf you have someone travelling with you but not crossing the bridge\, you may want to have them take your vehicle and trailer to the ending location\, which is the Welcome Center just past the toll booths on the right side of the road\, on the St. Ignace side. If you don’t have someone who can do this for you\, we will have a shuttle available as well. \nTo utilize the shuttle service\, please be sure that you drop your machine off at the park in Mackinaw City and drive your vehicle/trailer across the bridge to the welcome center.  At 10:15 AM sharp\, a School Bus will take you from the welcome center to the park where the machines and event organizers are located. \nYour machine MUST have a wheel kit installed. This is requirement of both the staging area and the Mackinac Bridge Authority to protect the street. If you need help on purchasing or installing a wheel kit\, contact Charlie at the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum at 906-477-6298. \nWhile crossing\, please stay as far over in the right lane of the bridge as possible. In the event of a breakdown\, we need to make sure the other machines can get around you and continue the crossing. You will be picked up by a trailer with a winch. \nOnce you have all crossed the bridge\, you will load your machines back onto your trailers in the welcome center parking lot. \nOnce you load your machine back on its trailer\, please drive your vehicle to the Little Bear Arena\, 275 Marquette St\, St Ignace\, MI 49781 . Here you can unload your machines if you’d like. \n\nback to major events\n\n\nBack to calendar
