This week's entertainment is by 'Rich Eddy's Rockin' Oldies', who will perform 50s & 60s music.

A Rendezvous at the Straits French Voyager Reenactment and Powwow, a family event celebrating the history of the St. Ignace area, will take place Saturday, August 23, and Sunday 24, 2008, at the Father Marquette Memorial Park in St. Ignace. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for elders and students. There will be no charge for children younger than 12.
This family event is to be alcohol and drug free. It is sponsored by the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau Special Events Committee, the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippews Indians, the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce, and the Michilimackinac Historical Society.

Join Host Jim Couling, a U.P. Storyteller, as he leads you on an Historic Walking Tour through downtown St. Ignace. Group will meet at the Museum of Ojibwa Culture before heading out on the tour.
This event is free to the public.
Over 100 exhibits of original and unique arts and crafts along the waterfront. Musicians, dancers, and jugglers add to the festivities.

Join thousands of walkers and make the five-mile trek across the Mighty Mackinac Bridge! Walkers can start up until 11:00 a.m.
The annual trek across the 5-mile long Mackinac Bridge occurs on Labor Day, the only day of the year pedestrians are allowed on the bridge. Walkers begin in St. Ignace at the north end of the Bridge and walk south. The walk is one-way, and bus transportation is available to return you to St. Ignace until 2:30 p.m..

What is a Mud Run?? It's a chance to bring out your 4 x 4 and compete in the most ultimate and unforgiving terrain - a "Pit of Mud". Just trying to make it through the pit is not the only challenge, as you compete for time and distance against other 4 x 4's.
Truck registration: 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Mud flies at Noon.

"J" Track, ATV's and dirt bikes can run the pit beginning at 11:00 a.m. for free - helps mush it up for the trucks!
Walkers will start together after last runner clears the start line. Kids 1/2 K and 1/4 K will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. Mackinac Island Races and Kid's Races will start and finish at Mission Point Resort on the east side of Mackinac Island (about 1/2 mile from boat docks).
